Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to ensure maximum operating efficiency, maintenance and repair of machines and equipment in production and facility.

The role includes responding to production requests, maintaining equipment, and creating parts requisitions. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of maintenance experience, and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Qualifications

• Two years of maintenance experience or more.
• Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
• Experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to weld (TIG, MIG and Stick).
• Ability to read and understand schematics, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• 2 years of food manufacturing experience and/or training or more.
• Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems / PSM.
• SAP experience.

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
