Job summary

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Machining Technician for the Weekend shift in our Maine facility. You will train 4–6 months on 1st shift before your assigned shift, set up and operate NC milling machines and lathes, and work from operation sheets to produce precision parts.

You will verify dimensions with precision tools, maintain TPM, and collaborate with engineers and quality teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• 1+ years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+ years related experience.
• Ability to set up machines, troubleshoot, perform standard walk-arounds and inspect own work.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate NC milling machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs to perform routine production operations on similar weldments and assemblies.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain Operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts and perform TPM duties.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems.
