Job summary

RTX is seeking a candidate for a Weekend shift in our Machining Department in Wells, ME. The role involves on-the-job training for 4–6 months on 1st shift hours before transitioning to the assigned weekend shift. No relocation assistance is offered.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating NC milling machines or VTCs, verifying finished parts with precision instruments, and collaborating with engineers and QA to solve machining issues. High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• 1+ years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+ years related experience.

• Set up and operate NC milling machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs to perform routine production operations on a variety of similar weldments and assemblies.
• Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction to set up equipment for turning, facing, boring and chamfering operations involving a limited number of surfaces to be machined.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain Operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Work with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel or others to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development.
• May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives.

What You Will Do

• The salary range for this role is $ 18.30--$34 .40 . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
