Job summary

RTX is seeking a 2nd shift CNC operator in Wells, ME. You will learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines and VTCs to produce welded assemblies, following operation sheets and travelers. The role trains you toward certification to inspect and accept parts.

You will work with engineers, QA and production staff to resolve issues, maintain machines, and support continuous improvement in a high-precision aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to compute with decimals and fractions.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines and VTCs to perform production operations.
• Read operation sheets and travelers to set up equipment for grinding, turning, facing and boring.
• Verify conformance of finished work using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator certification to accept/reject parts.
• Assist in TPM and machine maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, programmers and others to resolve machining problems.
