Job summary

Alicat Scientific, Inc. is seeking a reliable Weekend Operator to join its Tucson, AZ shop team. You will work Friday–Sunday, 5am–5pm, operating saws, assisting CNC machinists, and helping maintain a safe, efficient shop environment.

The role offers a clear path for advancement into CNC machining and related technical roles, with benefits and a culture focused on training and internal promotion.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds consistently.
Basic math and computer skills; Excel experience a plus.
Detail-oriented, accountable, and self-motivated.
Machine shop experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Operate saws and prepare raw materials per job specifications.
Assist CNC machinists in machine setup and operation.
Deburr and sand machined parts using finishing tools.
Track inventory and material usage in logs and spreadsheets.
Perform routine maintenance on saws and workspace.
Move materials safely using appropriate tools and equipment.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
