Job summary

Alicat Scientific, Inc. is hiring a Machine Shop Operator for the weeknights in Tucson, AZ. You will work hands-on with machined parts, running lathes, horizontal mills, and saws, with opportunities to operate robot-fed vertical mills.

This role offers growth into CNC machining through internal promotion. The position requires a high school diploma, physical ability to lift 50 lbs, and a detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently and stand for extended periods.
• Excel experience a plus.
• Must be detail-oriented, accountable, and self-motivated.
• Machine shop experience helpful but not required.
• Willingness to learn, grow, and take ownership of your role.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws and prepare raw materials per job specifications.
• Assist CNC machinists in machine setup and operation.
• Deburr and sand machined parts using tools and finishing equipment.
• Track inventory and material usage in logs and spreadsheets.
• Perform routine maintenance on saws and workspace.
• Move materials safely using appropriate tools/equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area.
• Follow all company safety protocols and standard procedures
