Job summary

Valmont in El Dorado, KS is hiring a Material Handler to move materials through production, load shipments, and maintain accurate inventory records. The role requires forklift experience, ability to read blueprints and tape measures, and strict safety adherence.

Employees will work outdoors and in the shop, with training provided and a schedule of Friday-Sunday shifts from 5:00 am to 5:30 pm. Starting wage is $22.68/hr, with 36 hours worked and pay for 40 hours.

Qualifications

• One year of forklift/heavy equipment experience.
• Must obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform simple math.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
• Ability to meet safety, quality and production standards.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; most lifts up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare poles in loads for shipping and unload materials timely.
• Maintain documentation of materials received and shipped.
• Inspect loads for safety and quality and keep yard organized.
• Operate lift equipment safely and adhere to PPE rules.
• Follow production plans and assist with inventory control.
