Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Must possess CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Must read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with customers, families, visitors, and staff.
• Must have leadership and supervisory ability and work harmoniously with others.
• Personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to customers and supervise day-to-day nursing activities by CNAs, ensuring quality care.
• Supervise and instruct staff to promote job knowledge and adherence to policies.
• Develop and implement a care plan for customers and monitor progress.
• Attend care plan conferences and report concerns to the Administrator.
• Complete charts and medical records with accurate documentation.
• Place orders for medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Coordinate with physicians and departments for diagnostic/therapeutic services.
• Maintain a warm, calm, and supportive department environment.
