The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred ASCP certification or a Bachelor of Science in a related field, and may involve some clerical duties.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Clinical specimen processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and follows universal precautions.
• Utilizes computer information systems and specialized equipment.
• Adheres to organization and governmental standards, rules and regulations.
• Performs waived testing with supervisory discretion.
• Performs clerical duties.
• Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.
• Regular and dependable attendance.
• Follows the core competencies set forth by the Company, which are available for review on CMSweb.
• Works holiday shift(s) as required by Company policy.
