Job summary

Austin Regional Clinic is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our laboratory team in Austin. The role focuses on processing specimens, performing tests, documenting results, and maintaining quality controls within regulatory standards.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, plus a Bachelor of Science or ASCP MLT certification with an Associate’s degree. Strong computer skills and professional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor of Science degree or ASCP MLT certification and Associate’s degree.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and terminology.
• Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.
• Ability to interact professionally with physicians, nurses, and all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling, test analyses, reporting and records.
• Maintains confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and OSHA.
• Performs waived testing with supervisory discretion.
• Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and documents results.
• Performs clerical duties and supports the lab team as needed.
