Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado is seeking a part-time Kitchen/Meal Service worker at the Lakewood Navigation Center. You will prepare, heat, plate, and serve nutritious meals for a high volume of participants, following the ANS kitchen guidelines and trauma‑informed service.

You will ensure proper portions, temperatures, and safe handling while maintaining a clean work environment. Requirements include reading and following menus, ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain it, and the

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow a menu.
• Knowledge of basic food safety practices and handling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand for an 8-hour shift.
• Clear communication with staff and participants.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and heat precooked meals from the ANS kitchen to proper serving temperatures.
• Plate and serve lunch and dinner for a high volume of participants with appealing presentation.
• Portion meals accurately following program needs and guidelines.
• Serve meals respectfully using a Trauma‑Informed Approach.
