Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado is seeking a Meals on Wheels Program Coordinator I to work with staff, volunteers, and external agencies to provide meal services to at-risk seniors living independently. You will connect clients to housing, SNAP, and healthcare resources, manage intake and referrals, and maintain confidential client records while supporting Medicaid services and crisis responses.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information per policy.
• Proficiency in using the telephone for extended periods while delivering high-quality service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn program-specific databases and systems.

Responsibilities

• Establishes trusting relations with coworkers, peers, and program participants.
• Collaborates with team to serve participants effectively.
• Provides and maintains intake services, reassessments, and referrals.
• Answer calls regarding services and assist with eligibility and enrollment processes.
• Connect clients to housing, SNAP, and healthcare resources.
• Maintain a caseload of 300-500 with confidential client records and reports.
• Coordinate Medicaid services, eligibility, and access to care; serve as primary contact for client support.
• Handle crises professionally and report critical incidents as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of all participant information.
• Assist Volunteer Specialist with daily duties as necessary.
• Occasionally fill in on client routes to ensure service continuity.
• Communicate with team to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Research and provide meaningful resources to clients.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and seminars.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
