Job summary

Volunteers of America Northern Rockies is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal service in a residential community corrections facility. You will prepare and serve meals, receive deliveries, and maintain inventories while upholding sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include recording refrigerator/freezer temperatures, keeping the dining area clean, and assisting with reporting on incidents. The role requires reliability, calm communication, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• ServSafe certified; if not certified, on-the-job training will be provided.
• At least two years of experience as a cook in a commercial setting.
• Must pass a background check with the Wyoming Department of Corrections and Bureau of Prisons.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for residents.
• Receive and store all food deliveries.
• Maintain inventory of kitchen stock and notify Kitchen Manager of reorders.
• Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
• Keep kitchen and dining area clean and compliant with sanitation regulations.
• Document and submit behavioral/incidents reports as required.
• Wash dishes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
