Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a registered nurse to provide patient care, counseling and health promotion using the nursing process. Expect coordinated collaboration with physicians, families and the care team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

The position is part-time for AM weekends, with a schedule from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pay ranges from $30.00 to $48.00 per hour, with benefits including education assistance and PSLF eligibility for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing programme required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• If job is in a free‑standing emergency department (FSED) location, one year of emergency or ICU nursing experience is required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA may be required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to promote health and prevent illness through teaching and care.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care with the health care team.
• Collaborate with the patient, family and physicians to deliver cost‑effective, high‑quality care.
