Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a registered nurse for night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) on weekends, to provide direct patient care at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham.

You will implement and monitor care plans, coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team, and ensure orders are carried out and documented.

Qualifications include BLS within 30 days and Alabama RN licensure; a diploma in nursing is required, with licensure at hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
