Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care and counseling, promote health, and prevent illness. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required depending on unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel individuals in health promotion, maintenance, illness prevention and injury prevention.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care for patients and their families with timely and cost‑effective care.
• Collaborate with the patient, family and health care team under physician/psychologist/podiatrist/dentist oversight to deliver care.
