Job summary

The On Call RN at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare provides direct patient care for life-limiting illnesses across patient ages. Responsibilities include using the Nursing Process to manage the Plan of Care, delegating tasks to LPNs and NAs, and ongoing professional development.

The role emphasizes patient education, adherence to policies, and maintaining high-quality care in a hospice setting. The position involves weekend and holiday on-call obligations, travel to patients' homes, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing (AD, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current license to practice in NC/SC.
• Two years of nursing experience; hospice or home care preferred.
• Able to lift/move up to 45 pounds and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Use the Nursing Process to manage the Plan of Care.
• Educate patient/family per Plan of Care for comfort and support.
• Document information per agency policies, accreditation, and legal requirements.
• RN delegates care duties to LPNs and NAs under supervision.
• Maintain and improve program performance and schedule.
• Care for hospice patients independently as needed.
• Demonstrate mission, vision and values daily.
