Job summary

Sanford Health in Hillsboro, ND is seeking an Activities Assistant for weekend/PRN duties in a long-term care setting. You will manage the monthly activity calendar and provide meaningful one-on-one and group activities to support residents’ dignity and identity.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification or enrollment in a healthcare program is preferred. BLS/CPR training may be required, and some roles involve driving as per location policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in social services or creative activities preferred.
• Experience in geriatrics preferred.
• Knowledge of working with diverse resident demographics.
• CNA certification preferred or enrolled in a healthcare program.
• BLS/ CPR training required within six months of hire where location applies.
• May be classified as Sanford Driver depending on location with a driving record.

Responsibilities

• Administers the monthly activity calendar.
• Engages patients/residents one-on-one and in groups to improve quality of life.
• Follows state guidelines for activities such as music, crafts and spiritual activities.
• Supports with simple nursing procedures and patient transportation.
• Documents in MDS/EPIC and maintains organized records.
• Demonstrates leadership, problem solving, and teamwork in a care setting.
