Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience in social services or creative activities (preferred).
• Experience in geriatrics (preferred).
• Knowledge of working with a wide variety of resident demographics.
• Preferred current Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) certification or enrollment in a healthcare-related program.
• BLS required based on location; CPR training and certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers the monthly activity calendar, ensuring it is well organized and upbeat.
• Regularly elicits patients’ and residents’ input into activity planning.
• Participates in music, craft, spiritual, and other state-required activities, supporting resident functioning and maintaining dignity.
• Assists with simple nursing procedures and with transporting patients/residents to and from rooms.
• Assists with Minimum Data Set documentation and EPIC documentation.
• Displays creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions under close supervision.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exhibits leadership abilities to develop and motivate people and helps manage strong-willed or behaviorally challenged residents.
• Prioritizes responsibilities, works autonomously, and plans resource utilization and work processes.
• Provides activities on a one-to-one and/or group basis to improve quality of life.
