Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Chicago seeks a Welcome Desk Attendant for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In this role you greet visitors, provide information, and help ensure a welcoming, safe environment.

Responsibilities include handling POS transactions using Club Automation, inputting data, assisting guests, directing people, and upholding center policies. Evening and weekend availability, customer-service experience, and basic computer skills required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in customer service with data entry duties.
• Experience with a computer-based work environment.
• Familiarity with Web based, and smartphone applications preferred.
• Complete Safe from Harm Training within 30 days.
• Annually complete Harassment Prevention and Bystander Training.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to customers, clients and members entering the facility.
• Answer all incoming calls quickly and politely, and answer basic questions about facility events and programs.
• Input all sales and data into the Point of Sale system (Club Automation).
• Cash out and secure the POS area at the end of shift according to Salvation Army policies.
• Ensure guest safety and report potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Register and check in members and guests for services and events using registration systems.
