Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center - Chicago is seeking a Welcome Desk Attendant to greet visitors and provide a positive first impression at the Welcome Desk on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

You will handle guest check-in, answer questions, assist with events and programs, process POS transactions, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment. This role requires customer service experience and data entry skills, with ability to work nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in customer service with data entry duties.
• Experience with a computer-based work environment.
• Familiarity with Web based, and smart phone application preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to customers, clients and members entering the facility.
• Answer all incoming calls quickly and politely, ability to answer basic questions about facility wide events and programs.
• Accurately input all sales and data into the Point of Sales system (Club Automation).
• Responsible to cash out and secure the POS area at the end of shift according to Salvation Army policies and procedures.
• Ensure Guest safety, immediately rectify and/or report any potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Assist and direct members and guests in moving about the facility to avoid crowded conditions and maximize service efficiently.
• Register and check in members and guests for Church at the Kroc services, community events, programs, and activities using designated registration systems
• Report any suspicion of Child Abuse to the appropriate supervisor and Child Protective Services.
• Generate legible and accurate accident and incident reports as required and forward to supervisor in time frames established.
• Notify security of any problems in registration area.
• In contacts related to this position’s duties, this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.
