Job summary
Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital and Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital are seeking a Registered Nurse Weekend Float to join our patient‑centered care teams. This role provides weekend coverage for nights, delivering competent nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process and collaborating with physicians and staff.
The ideal candidate holds a BSN or ADN with plan to obtain BSN within three years, current Illinois RN license, BLS, and strong communication and
Qualifications
- BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of starting.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC or TNCC within one year of hire for ER.
- Pediatric ER requires Pediatric Advanced Life Support; TNCC within one year.
- Non-Invasive Cardiology requires ACLS.
Responsibilities
- Collects data, analyzes outcomes, plans, implements and evaluates individualized care.
- Directs care and manages any assistants involved in direct patient care.
- Collaborates with patients, families, physicians and staff to document plans and communications.
- Participates in shared governance, committees and unit projects.
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions in the health record and updates the plan accordingly.
- Uses best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
