Job summary

New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Center in Windsor, CT, is seeking a PT Weekends Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team. You will provide dedicated care to emergency patients, assist during procedures, triage, and maintain records while delivering exceptional client service.

We offer a sign-on bonus up to $1,000 based on experience, a competitive weekend pay range ($24.30–$31.90/hour), and opportunities for growth in ER/ICU skills within a supportive, collaborative hospital

Qualifications

• 1+ year of veterinary technician experience (ER preferred but not required).
• Strong phlebotomy, catheter placement, and nursing skills.
• Comfort with fast-paced, emotionally charged situations.
• Kindness, teamwork, and a steady, supportive presence.
• Experienced and/or credentialed technicians highly encouraged to apply.

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Triage and stabilize patients.
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, run in-house diagnostics.
• Monitor critical patients and assist with emergency procedures.
• Administer medications, CRIs, and blood products.
• Calculate medical math and administer medications appropriately.
• Provide clear, compassionate updates to clients.
• Help maintain a clean, safe ICU environment.
• Show patience and empathy to address client concerns.
