Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Center is seeking a PT Weekends Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team in Windsor, CT. You will support hospital operations, provide high‑quality patient care, and assist with emergencies in a fast‑paced environment.

The role requires at least 1 year of veterinary technician experience, strong nursing and phlebotomy skills, and the ability to work calmly under pressure.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of veterinary technician experience (ER preferred)
• Strong phlebotomy, catheter placement, and nursing skills
• Comfort with fast‑paced, emotionally charged situations
• Kindness, teamwork, and a steady, supportive presence
• Experienced and/or credentialed technicians encouraged to apply
• In the absence of significant experience, willingness to learn and a good attitude

Responsibilities

• Triage and stabilize patients
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, run in-house diagnostics
• Monitor critical patients and assist with emergency procedures
• Administer medications, CRIs, and blood products
• Perform medical math and administer medications via routes and durations
• Provide clear, compassionate updates to clients
• Help maintain a clean, safe ICU environment
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy
