Job summary

PetVet Care Centers in Windsor, CT, is seeking a PT Weekends Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team. The role supports hospital operations by delivering dedicated veterinary care and exceptional service to patients and clients, especially during weekend ER shifts.

Qualified candidates have 1+ year of veterinary tech experience (ER preferred), strong nursing skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. We offer a sign-on bonus and opportunities for growth within NEVCCC.

Qualifications

• 1+ year veterinary technician experience; ER preferred.
• Strong phlebotomy, catheter placement, and nursing skills.
• Comfortable with fast-paced, emotionally charged situations.
• Kindness, teamwork, and a steady, supportive presence.
• Credentialed/experienced technicians encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Triage and stabilize patients.
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, run in-house diagnostics.
• Monitor critical patients and assist with emergency procedures.
• Administer medications, CRIs, and blood products.
• Perform medical math and administer meds; provide client updates.
• Maintain a clean, safe ICU and address client concerns.
