Job summary

Achieving True Self in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an Employment Specialist for weekend work to provide job-readiness and vocational coaching to adults and transition-age students with Autism/neurodivergent needs. You will help clients secure competitive integrated employment by applying program resources and evidence-based practices.

The role emphasizes building rapport, coaching workplace skills, and facilitating job opportunities, with a strong commitment to inclusive services and ongoing

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Special Education, or related field strongly preferred.
• Experience: Must be 18+, 2–3 years with neurodiverse individuals preferred.
• ACRE certification required within 6 months of employment.
• Clearances: FBI, PA Child Abuse (Act 33) and PA Criminal History (Act 34) clearances required.
• CPR certification required at hire or provided if not valid.
• Comfort using technology: iPad/tablet for documentation; Windows and Google products.

Responsibilities

• Spend time with clients to build robust therapeutic rapport.
• Help adults and students on the autism spectrum or with disabilities obtain employment aligning with interests and abilities.
• Provide timely communication and schedule services per program timelines.
• Document all program records (plans, assessments, reports).
• Provide direct training, support, and coaching in various settings.
• Break down tasks into steps and model effective workplace communication and problem solving.
• Consult with management to adapt support for clients in the workplace.
• Lead Paid Work Experience sessions and coordinate job shadow opportunities.
• Transport clients to interviews or sites as needed.
