Job summary

Via-Centers-For-Neurodevelopment is seeking an Employment Specialist to help adults with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders learn and perform workplace tasks. The role collaborates with a supervisor to coordinate opportunities, transport, and job placement while developing both task-specific and interpersonal skills for successful employment.

The position is part-time and may require evening or weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disorders is preferred.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends for Employment Services.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Access to approved personal vehicle for transporting individuals to and from employment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment opportunities to job seekers.
• Coordinate schedules and transportation for individuals served.
• Assist job seekers with applications and interviews and arrange job placement.
• Develop employment readiness skills with job seekers.
• Support individuals in competitive employment using instructional techniques and positive reinforcement.
• Monitor work performance and collect data.
• Communicate with employers, guardians, and coworkers to support progress.
