Job summary

Achieving True Self on Pittsburgh's North Side is seeking an Employment Specialist to support adults and transition-age students with Autism/neurodivergent needs and other disabilities. You will provide job-readiness and vocational coaching, guiding clients toward sustainable, competitive employment and coordinating with managers and supports to ensure successful placements.

The role emphasizes flexible, part-time hours with growth to full-time, including 2-3 evenings per week and weekend

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Special Education, or related field strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience with neurodiverse individuals preferred.
• ACRE certification required within 6 months of employment.
• Pennsylvania driver's license with proof of car insurance, PA vehicle registration, and good driving record.
• Clear FBI, PA Child Abuse History (Act 33), and PA Criminal History (Act 34) clearances required.
• CPR certification required at hire or training provided.

Responsibilities

• Spend substantial time with clients to build strong therapeutic rapport.
• Assist adults and students with Autism/other disabilities to obtain employment aligned with their interests and abilities.
• Provide timely communication, schedule services, and complete program documentation.
• Deliver direct training, support, and coaching in various settings.
• Transport clients to interviews or sites as needed.
• Coordinate with employers and program leadership to identify employment opportunities.
