Job summary

WeAchieve is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support female individuals with IDD in a residential setting in Silver Spring, MD. You will help individuals exercise control over important life aspects according to their goals and preferences.

Entry rate of $18.40 per hour will increase to $20.00 after the introductory period and required training. Must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License (non-provisional) required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates a customized community-driven schedule focusing on individuals’ wishes and goals.
• Assists individuals to engage in their community to develop natural supports and peer relationships.
• Assists with independent living skill development in the individual's home, as determined by the individual's wishes and goals.
• Coordinates with families and teams to address concerns and ensure PCP goals are implemented daily.
• Provides transportation to planned activities to help individuals access their community.
• Supports emotional and physical needs through positive interactions and safe care.
• Participates in medical appointments and reviews nursing status.
