Job summary

WeAchieve in Maryland is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support female individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting in Silver Spring. You will assist with daily activities, promote independence, and help implement person-centered plans.

The entry rate is $18.40 per hour, increasing to $20.00 after the introductory period and required DDA training. A High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License (non-provisional) required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates a customized community-driven schedule that focuses on the individuals’ wishes and goals.
• Assists individuals to engage in their community to develop natural support and peer relationships.
• Assists with independent living skill development in the individual’s home, as determined by the individual’s wishes and goals.
• Works with families and teams to ensure concerns are resolved.
• Provides transportation to activities to help access the community.
• Cares for emotional and physical needs through positive interactions.
• Participates in medical appointments.
• Keeps homes clean and safe and maintains privacy of protected information.
