Job summary

The Arc of the Ozarks in Springfield, MO is seeking a Direct Support Professional for weekend shifts on a part-time basis. Starting pay is $21.00/hour with a two-week paid training/orientation and weekday sessions from 9AM to 5PM.

Shifts include 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am for Fridays through Sundays. You will mentor and advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them learn daily living skills and participate in the community with dignity and

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Patient, dependable and eager to learn.
• Able to obtain and maintain a Class E driver’s license within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, shopping, personal hygiene).
• Help individuals build confidence and independence through hands-on learning.
• Engage with the community: visit local businesses and activities; support community participation.
• Support employment, household, and personal goals.
• Provide medication and behavioral support as required.
• Work as part of a team to plan, communicate, and advocate for individuals.
