Job summary

The Arc of the Ozarks is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Springfield, MO. This part-time role guarantees 16+ hours per week, with one 8-hour shift during the week and one on the weekend, and the start pay is $21.00 per hour.

A two-week paid training/orientation is required during weekdays 9–5. As a DSP you mentor, coach, and advocate to help individuals with disabilities learn skills and live as independently as possible, while benefiting from paid training and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Complete CPR/First Aid training.
• Finish a 16-hour Medication Administration course.
• Complete a 10-hour MANDT System Workshop.
• Complete OSHA, Abuse & Neglect, and Electronic Documentation trainings.
• Have a valid Class E driver’s license within 30 days and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Teach independent living skills like cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
• Support independence by hands-on learning and encouragement.
• Engage with the community, visit local places, and help clients be active.
• Support employment, housing, and personal goals.
• Administer medications as certified when needed.
• Collaborate with the team to plan and advocate for individuals.
