Job summary

The Arc of the Ozarks is hiring a Behavior Support Technician in Springfield, MO. You will mentor clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them maximize independence through daily living skills, behavioral support, and community participation.

Typical duties include coaching in personal care, cooking, and social integration, with training provided. Shift options include days, evenings, and weekends with potential wage progression.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age.
• Diploma from an accredited High School or the equivalent.
• Willingness to complete CPR, First Aid, and MANDT trainings.

Responsibilities

• Educate and assist clients on skills such as personal hygiene, cooking, shopping, cleaning, and other daily living activities.
• Work with clients to learn and reinforce coping skills to address challenging behaviors.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation to ensure client safety when necessary.
• Collaborate with Behavior Analysis professionals to implement and follow behavior support plans.
