Job summary

Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brooklyn, NY seeks a dedicated Dietary Supervisor for a PRN weekend schedule (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM). Lead day-to-day Food Services operations, ensure nutritious meals, and maintain sanitary standards under regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have at least five years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
• ServSafe Certified required.
• Training in cost control, food management, and diet therapy.
• Nursing home experience preferred.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and supervising all aspects of the Food Services Department.
• Coordinate food service activities with Nursing, Environmental Services, Activities, Social Services, etc.
• Interpret and communicate department policies to staff, residents, visitors, and regulatory agencies.
• Oversee food service staff performance, scheduling, and compliance with standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of meals according to posted cycle menus.
• Complete administrative duties such as reports, evaluations, and inventories.
• Participate in facility inspections and assist with health and safety compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all food prep and storage areas.
• Implement and monitor safety and inventory control procedures for food and equipment.
