Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Diagnostic Sonographer for the First Shift Weekend Option at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC. This on-site role requires ARDMS certification with RDMS/RVT preferred, and a BLS credential.

Qualifications

Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification.
Level I - Must obtain ARDMS certifications as required by each entity within 18 months of employment.
Level II - Minimum of two years' experience as a Sonographer.
Level III - A minimum of 4 years' experience within specialty modality in which they are seeking promotion.

Responsibilities

Operates sonographic equipment and performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Exams include abdomen, vascular, small parts, ob-gyn, infant head/hip/spine, and interventional procedures.
Uses cognitive skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures to anatomy and pathology.
Communicates findings to Radiologist and ensures patient comfort and safety.
Maintains equipment and supplies; contributes to department operations and training of students.
