Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonography professional to perform a range of ultrasound procedures, including OB/GYN, vascular, and abdominal studies, with emphasis on accurate imaging and documentation.

The role requires RDMS credentialing or eligibility, BLS certification, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, onsite environment. The position offers day shifts and a 36-hour workweek within the Johnston Health Ultrasound unit.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
• RDMS registration or eligibility and ARDMS requirements for registration within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures including patient history assessment and documentation of findings.
• Generates preliminary impressions and submits data; ensures data transfer to storage/networks.
• Maintains equipment, ensures sterile probes, and assists in troubleshooting.
• Evaluates requisitions and patient information for appropriateness, collaborates on schedules and patient flow.
• Provides ultrasound guidance for procedures such as sonohysterograms, CVS, amniocentesis and fetal procedures.
