Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for weekend days at South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights. This Weekender role offers part-time status with part-time benefits and eligibility for full-time tuition reimbursement.

The position emphasizes high-quality imaging, patient comfort, and coordination with the Regional Radiology-Diagnostics Institute. RDMS certification and BLS are required at hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) or ARDMS/ARRT RT(S)/RT(VS) on hire
• One of: abdominal (RDMS, AB), OB/GYN (RDMS, OB/GYN) or vascular (RVT, VT) on hire; others within 18 months
• BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic sonographic imaging using non-ionizing, high-frequency sound waves for patients of all ages.
• Conduct ultrasound studies (obstetrical, GYN, abdominal, retroperitoneal, small parts, pediatric and vascular).
• Consult with referring physicians regarding patient history and procedure selection.
• Review charts, previous reports and requisitions prior to exams.
• Educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure understanding.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after examinations.
• Assist with scheduling and triage of ultrasound appointments.
• Monitor appointments and prioritize daily workflow.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
• Process billing via RIS and report malfunctions to help desk.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and coordinate with clinical engineering.
• Supply exam rooms with linen and supplies.
• Assist with training of students and residents in ultrasound.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) or ARRT RT(S/RT(VS)) on hire

Certification in abdominal (RDMS, AB) or OB/GYN (RDMS, OB/GYN) or vascular (RVT, VT) on hire

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
