Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join a compassionate team delivering patient-centered imaging services using state-of-the-art technology.

You will perform ultrasound studies across obstetrical, GYN, abdominal, retroperitoneal, vascular and other areas, consult with physicians, review charts, educate patients, ensure safety, and manage imaging via PACS. Training and growth opportunities are provided in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and in good standing.
• Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS or ARRT RT(S)/RT(VS) upon hire; other two certifications within 18 months.
• BLS Certification through AHA or Red Cross upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic sonographic imaging through non-ionizing, high-frequency sound waves for patients of all ages.
• Perform ultrasound studies ( obstetrical, GYN, abdominal, retroperitoneal, small parts, pediatric, vascular).
• Consult with referring physicians regarding patients' medical history and selection of appropriate procedures and equipment.
• Review charts, previous reports and requisition prior to the exam.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
• Assist with scheduling of patients and prioritize emergency ultrasound procedures.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

RDMS/ARRT certification upon hire (AB/OB/vascular)
