Job summary

Nexus Family Recovery Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a part-time Detox Assistant to provide safe, medically supervised care in our detox program for individuals withdrawing from alcohol or drugs. The role works Saturdays and Sundays 7am–3pm under nursing and clinical supervision.

You will monitor clients, assist with daily needs, document vitals and incidents, and help maintain a clean, structured environment while following HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant program preferred.
• Experience in substance abuse treatment, behavioral health, healthcare, or residential care preferred.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders or withdrawal symptoms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, quality care to detox clients under supervision.
• Complete vitals, COWS, and CIWA and document in systems as needed.
• Monitor withdrawal symptoms and alert medical staff to concerns.
• Assist clients with meals, hydration, hygiene supplies, linens, and comfort items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe detox environment.
