Job summary

Animal Emergency Clinic of Mid-Maine is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our daytime weekend team. We are a fast-paced emergency hospital offering critical care 365 days a year with a rotating veterinarian schedule.

The role involves triage, treatments, diagnostic imaging, and collaboration with a skilled team. Flexible scheduling includes weekend shifts, with additional weekday overnight options for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician status (CVT, LVT, or RVT) or significant hands-on experience.
• Experience in a veterinary hospital and interest in emergency medicine.
• Ability to triage patients, perform venipuncture, IV placement, and diagnostic imaging.
• Strong documentation and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency patients and obtain history and vital signs.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and emergencies.
• Provide nursing care from intake to discharge and monitor anesthesia.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
• Obtain diagnostic radiographs and perform in-house lab testing.
