Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Brewer, ME is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinary Technician to join a team delivering high-quality emergency care. The role involves triage, anesthesia, radiographs, client communication, and handling animals, with a starting pay of $28.00/hr and quarterly profit-sharing bonuses.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong clinical skills.
• Detail-oriented and well organized.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.
• Credential (LVT, CVT, or RVT) required.
• Employment will require references and background check.

Responsabilités

• Perform triage evaluation of patients.
• Create and maintain treatment sheets.
• Calculate and administer medications, continuous infusions, and blood products.
• Place and maintain catheters.
• Record all treatments and patient status observations.
• Charge for all treatments and procedures.
• Alert the DVM to changes in a patient's status.
• Perform anesthesia induction, maintenance, and recovery.
• Perform radiographs and laboratory analyses.
• Interact with clients and provide updates on patients and finances.
• Able to comfort, handle and restrain large and small animals.
