Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, GA is seeking a CT technologist to perform CT imaging under indirect supervision, ensuring patient care and image quality in the CT department. The role involves positioning, preparing patients, obtaining clinical history, and coordinating with radiologists.

Weekend shifts Fri-Sun 7p-730a with a weekend differential of $11.00 per hour. 36 hours per week, benefits eligible, and opportunities for continuing education and growth within the department.

Qualifications

• Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate.
• Graduate of AMA, JRC or Regionally Accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT Registered or Registry eligible through the ARRT.
• ARRT CT registry required in accordance with Work Instruction EMP 8.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in positioning of all CT procedures as prescribed by departmental policy and CT protocols.
• Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address questions.
• Positions patient and formulates appropriate techniques to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomy of interest based on accepted radiographic principles.
• Judges diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.
• Performs venipuncture for administration of radiopaque media and assists in obtaining informed consent as appropriate.
• Reviews all diagnostic imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided; communicates questionable orders to radiologists for final approval.
• Takes verbal orders and enters appropriately in RIS system.
• Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulatory requirements; enters patient and study information and documents billing codes.
• Assists, communicates, and consults with Radiologists; works independently outside the department with providers.
• Observes patient during exam for status changes and contacts providers as needed.
• Provides guidance and mentoring for other personnel in the area.

Education
