Job summary

Seven Counties Services seeks a part-time Crisis Intervention Counselor to provide telephone-based crisis and suicide intervention to callers in need. This role includes supervising volunteers, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with teams to ensure quality service.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent crisis training with at least six months of social services experience. Weekend hours: 16 hours on Saturdays and Sundays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Human Services, or related field.
• High School diploma or GED with Crisis Intervention/Suicide Prevention training and 6 months volunteer time.
• Minimum of six months experience in social services.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis and suicide intervention counseling over the telephone to emergency callers.
• Document and maintain records of all telephone interventions.
• Review daily log-sheets and client records for accuracy.
• Supervise and monitor the work of a staff of telephone counselors and volunteers.
• Provide crisis intervention training and consultation to staff, providers, and community groups.
• Attend staff and team meetings and share procedures.
• Provide crisis intervention to community groups traumatized by suicide as assigned.
