Job summary

Seven Counties Services seeks a qualified Crisis Counselor for 3rd shift (Full-Time, 32 hours/week). You will provide crisis, suicide, and homicide intervention over the telephone, document interventions, supervise volunteers, and deliver training to staff and community partners.

Education requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related fields; Psychology preferred. This role emphasizes confidentiality, teamwork, and adherence to CIC and SCS policies.

Qualifications

• Provides crisis, suicide and homicide intervention counseling over the telephone.
• Maintains accurate, thorough records of telephone interventions during shifts.
• Supervises volunteers/staff counselors on shifts to ensure quality crisis services.
• Provides crisis intervention training to counselors and community groups as requested.
• Adheres to CIC and SCS policies, confidentiality, and required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis, suicide and homicide intervention counseling via phone.
• Identify appropriate organizations to meet caller needs and arrange follow-up.
• Document and maintain records of all telephone interventions.
• Supervise volunteers and staff counselors on assigned shifts.
• Offer crisis intervention training to colleagues and community groups.
• Attend supervision, staff meetings and CIC/988/SCS trainings.
