Job summary

Methodist Senior Services, Traceway Retirement Community in Tupelo, MS, is seeking a PRN Weekend Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support residents' daily living skills and independence under the supervision of an OT.

You'll join a faith-based, nonprofit organization with a focus on resident-centered care, collaborating with an experienced rehab team and nursing staff to deliver skilled therapies and monitor progress on weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license/certification in the state of Mississippi.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adequate computer skills to complete required job duties and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions to improve residents' activities of daily living and functional tasks.
• Assist residents with self-care, coordination, mobility, and functional activities to promote independence.
• Monitor residents' responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Document treatments and resident progress per professional and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with residents, families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care team.
• Follow established plans of care and report changes in residents' functional status.
• Promote resident safety, functional independence, and overall quality of life.
