Job summary

Resort Lifestyle Communities is seeking a Weekend Cook for Sable Lodge Retirement to provide scratch-based meals on Saturdays and Sundays. You will prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring meals are safely cooked, visually appealing, and aligned with resident preferences.

You’ll build warm, friendly relationships with residents and team members to create a welcoming weekend atmosphere. The role requires weekend availability, 8 hours per day, and prior kitchen experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read, speak and understand basic English.
• Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking is preferred.
• Ability to secure food handler permits within two weeks of first day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high quality dishes using methods such as broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing.
• Engage in continuous improvement by contributing ideas during meetings and remaining attentive during service hours.
• Complete all opening and closing tasks for each shift and assist teammates to maintain a clean, safe kitchen.
• Keep stations stocked and organized, refresh pantry items, and monitor refrigeration.
• Ensure a sanitary kitchen by cleaning work areas and recording temperatures.
