Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, seeks an entry-level operator trainee for the Weekend Shift2 in Maine. You’ll work 12-hour Friday–Sunday shifts (6pm–6:30am) and complete 4–8 weeks of on-the-job training to become a Certified Operator, performing routine assembly on large engine sections.

You’ll verify finished work with precision instruments, obtain operator certification, and collaborate with engineers, QA, programmers and production staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred: 1+ year of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to perform computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Work 12-hour weekend shifts Friday–Sunday (6pm–6:30am).
• Participate in 4–8 weeks of on-the-job training to become a Certified Operator.
• Perform routine assembly operations on large engine sections and similar assemblies.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator certification to accept or reject parts.
• Perform total preventive maintenance on machines.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and production staff to resolve assembly problems.
• Follow written work instructions available in English.
