Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan. Considered a member of the nursing team and is expected to know, and will be held accountable for, following

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CNA certification required within four months of date into position.
• CNA license/certification required by state authority.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered care and daily living assistance.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Assist with meals, feeding, and hydration; support dining experiences.
