Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan. Considered a member of the nursing team and is expected to know, and will be held accountable for, following

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required within four months of date into position.
• CNA training and certification provided by facility.
• Annual continuing education minimum of 12 hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, and vital signs.
• Document resident interactions and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Support infection prevention and PPE policies and assist with wellness activities.
