Brightpoint invites you to join our team as a Part-Time Child Care Worker, Saturdays and Sundays from 7am to 3pm in Rockford, IL. This role supports the Crisis Nursery by ensuring safe, nurturing care for children birth through six years while guiding families to community resources.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 21+ years of age, one year of childcare experience, and CPR/First Aid certification. A valid driver’s license is also required.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• At least one year of experience caring for children (birth to seven years preferred).
• Associate's Degree or coursework in child development/early childhood education preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or able to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily routines and monitor safety and wellbeing of children in the Crisis Nursery.
• Prepare meals and snacks; organize mealtimes.
• Plan schedules to ensure physical activity, rest, and play.
• Provide nurturing, age-appropriate activities for infants to young children.
• Support development of fine and gross motor skills through activities.
• Use appropriate behavior management and redirects as needed.
• Complete intake assessments and collaborate with parents on needs and resources.
• Discharge children and follow up with families.
• Adhere to licensing standards and staff-to-child ratios.
